i love this show sssssssoooooooooooooooo much!!! there were really times during the show you felt like crying...
for example, Moo-hyuk hugging Eun-chae and begging her not to go to Africa, Duel-lee cooking for Moo-hyuk and he was crying, Duel-lee telling the doctor she will give her heart to her son,Eun-chae crying at Moo-hyuk's feet, Eun-chae confessing to Moo-hyuk she loved him, and the part when they parted.
Oh it was just sad,so so so so so so so so so so so sad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i love the ending part too, it was so beatiful though it was a bit confusing.
i dont agree with suicide, but im glad that Eun-chae and Moo-hyuk can continue their love to the next world.

I take it back. I take back all the bad things I said before. I just watched MISA for the second time and it hit me hard. This is beautiful. Eun-Chae's character had to be that simple and naive. Moo-Hyuk had to be that stoic and beautiful and temperamental. It was beautifully written, beautifully acted and I am so touched by the sadness and tragedy of the last four episodes and especially Eun-Chae's words as she dies by Moo-Hyuk's grave that I'm speechless. Words just don't do justice to the bittersweet romance and sadness of this drama. So Ji Sub is AMAZING.

I love So Ji Sub. I hated the lead actress. I wanted to beat her to death myself. Her character is just so unbelievably stupid. It wasn't at all realistic, but I did enjoy every single shot of SJS. He's incredibly hot. The story was interesting and I think the overall series would have been so much better with a real, experienced and attractive actress in the lead instead of this idiot.

I agree, 6 out of 5. This is one of the best dramas i have seen. You will love Moo-hyuk and Eun-chae definitely. So Ji-sup and Im Soo-jung are really great actors: So Ji-sup's eyes are very expressive and also Im Soo-jung is very good. In the end you can only pity Moo-hyuk's mother for her ignorance and what she has inadvertently done to her real son ( I especially like the scene when she was washing the pot and her tears were uncontrollably flowing for reasons she did not even know). You will also hate Eun-chae's father for what he made Moo-hyuk and Seo-kyung suffer, but in the end he reaped what he sowed: he lost his daughter.
Also, what should have been an act of vengeance on his part, his giving his heart to Yoon, became instead an act of mercy for the son who was actually his mother's substitute for him.
MISA is all about love, forgiveness and eternity. The ending for me is perfect. It is only fitting for Moo-hyuk and Eun-chae to continue their love in the next world, together forever, free of pain and suffering and jealousy.

Agreed that this drama goes far beyond conventional kdrama productions. The 16 episodes describe an intensely tragic story but are sprinkled with acts of heroism, love, and happy moments. I have watched a truckload of kdramas, while Autumn in My Heart is the saddest of them all, this one has the thickest plot without making it too complicated. Each actor in MISA is very well developed and the audience cares about those they need to care about and dislike those they shouldn't. The ending is not tragic, the ending makes it a very beautiful humane story. Moon Hyuk saves his mother the pain of knowing about her dying son. He gives his brother his heart leaving his legacy within his brother's body. His ex-girlfriend comes back from Australia to save his life saying that true happiness cannot be bought with money. Finally, the woman he loves most, Eun Chae, goes with him into the next life. I do not agree with suicide at all as life is too precious. In this case, it provided comfort to the viewer. Instead of going through life with immense grief with only memories, it was a relief not only for the character in the story, but I felt relief as well. There was not one moment that caused me to have goosebumps. The entire story was played out very sincerely with "realistic" emotions. It's a definate recommend and 5 on the scale of 5. Devache1 did a great job capturing the essence of the stroy.

MISA is a very intense drama. In a nutshell, I can only think of a word to describe this great drama – absolutely awesome. However, as I sat through the drama, many parts grieved me, whereas some aspects left me wondering why things progressed the way they did.

The lead couple acting earns every ounce of my compassion in this unforgettable drama. Listening to the theme song is able to electrocute me emotionally.

The cast, especially So Ji Sub (Moo Hyuk) delivered a great performance.
His superb acting portrays all the emotional complexity, capturing his role very well. His window of soul conveys myriad expressions – vengeful, fiery, passionate, grief. His striking handsome face bears sadness with heavy burden.

Worth mentioning is eventually when Moo Hyuk discovered the facts behind his abandonment. He was filled with anguish, for what he had done to his half brother, Yoon and for his hatred towards his mother. The distinction between love and hate is so fine. He was hit with the realization that deep down in his heart, he actually loved his mother. Because of this love, he did not disclose his identity to her, for fear, it would break her heart to know her real son was alive all along and that he was going to leave her very soon.

In my humble opinion, I feel that Moo Hyuk’s decision to give his heart to Yoon was also his own way of reconciling and reuniting with his mother. With his heart beating in Yoon’s body, it was like he was receiving his mother’s love as well.

So Ji Sub is MY FAV actor because of this...... i cried so hard it's not even funny.... after watching this drama.... i couldn't feel as sad or depressed or cry at all for any other drama (still can't) because compared to this, the other dramas are so cliche. this drama is more than just a sad love story... you will see when you watch it! GO WATCH IT IF YOU HAVENT!!!

i just started watching this series and i find the starting quite interesting. and the part where so ji sup's mom got cut by broken pieces of glass and he helped her but she was yelling for jung kyung ho instead and even asked him to ask ji sup to leave. i imagined myself in his state. i'll be so heart broken. im still downloading the rest of the episode. and after reading the review. i believe this series is worth it though the ending is sad. this is actual first favourite korean movie.

I think this is a very very excellent series and the lead actors, esp So Ji Sup, is just outstanding. Yes the ending (I think she died in the end?) left too many unanswered questions. But it did leave a deep impact. Hope So Ji Sup comes back from military service with plenty of offers.

First of all,I think King of Kings is being really unfair when commenting this drama...you don't like this drama just because the ending is not how YOU want it to.If you want the endings to be the way you want it to be so badly, go and make your own drama then.I just think you do not know how to appreciate it.I'd like to say this is a really good drama...all the emotions and feelings that the actors/actresses felt are really well done and you know what they are thinking even though there's no dialogue (just by looking at their expressions). And meanings are really deep (not like the typical korean drama that only talks about romantic love). I do recommend this movie to everyone. (^_^)V

Devache, your review was awesome and I'd like to ask you to add the final episode too. Unfortunately I wasnt able to watch it yesterday (I'm in Vancouver, Canada) and now I'm completely lost of what happened. Thanks in advance!! I really love this drama, was so deep and so different that I think it was one of the few that goes beyond of easy TV.

SPOILERS: This is quite an interesting drama and I must agree Soh Ji Sup is outstanding as the central character of Cha Moo Hyuk. He is not handsome in the conventional sense of the word but he has an arresting look that cannot easily be ignored. I am however troubled by the ending, what tantamount to be a double suicide. I am an Asian but a non Korean and does not have an intimate knowledge of Korean culture; suicide in my culture is rare and certainly not portrayed on prime time TV shows. The other thing is that Lim So Jeong as Song Eun Chae looks so very young (she reminds me of my 14 year-old niece) that I have a hard time accepting her as a credible ‘heroine’ in this drama.
