I just found out noticed that the LCJ ending video link no longer works, and the video was removed due to terms of use violation. A matter of time before my opening theme goes as well, I think. Looks like even themesongs aren't accepted as legal.

Of the Mainland JY adaptations I have seen, I like this one the best. The plot kind of lags in some places, but compared to a series like ROCH and DGSD where all the cuts made the progression too fast, Linked Cities is a nice change of pace.

The scenes in the snow valley were definitely the highlight of this series.

Shu Chang looks really beautiful against the snow. I think HMT was good as QF, even though I despise the character. She made her actions seem more understandable. I liked that they didn't cast some pretty boy as DY (ahem... like in the Flying Fox series).

Anyone remember the 89 TVB version? hehe. Nice theme songs. Roger Kwok as DY (doesn't really fit the role). Zheng Gang (forgot his english name) as DY. Kitty Lai as QF. Francis Ng as Wan Gui. Too bad I don't remember 99.5% of the series. Sammi Cheng sings half of the theme songs though.

haha i watched a concert over the internet and Wu Yue came on stage to sing and everyone was like "omg what kind of celebrity is he, why is he so ugly?" - then i realised it was Di Yun!! To top it off, he did some wushu moves between his singing

Di Yun vs Hu Fei is a good example of acting vs looks and i have to say i much prefer the former... although i admit that throughout the first half of the series, i kept wishing he was just a LITTLE more good looking. For some reason i thought he looked quite good in the 2nd half of the series, though i'm not sure if that's a makeup thing or because i warmed to the character

Wu Yue is really that bad-looking meh? I thought he looks ok. He's no pretty boy but I don't find him ugly.

Wu Yue has huge muscles, but he is a regular looking guy in the face. He suits the farmboy DY character really well. The Wan Gui actor was quite perfect for the role as well. He should have been Yang Kang too. Wang Xiao Feng looks kind of "special" with that weird looking hat thingie on, and he actually turned "special" in the series, but 2 out of 3 ain't bad.

I like how the series gave the supporting characters a lot of time too. Wan Zhen Shan and Ling Tui Si got very little face time in the book, but they got plenty in the show - although perhaps sometimes a little too much.

And of course, I LOVE the Monkey King! He was really good as Hua Tie Gan.

i guess by celebrity standards. keep in mind that this was a concert and a lot of good looking celebrities had come on stage.

yes, i liked how the series gave supporting characters a lot more screentime than say in ROCH, where there was too much focus on the leads, but i guess that has to do with how the series was paced (quite slow )

excpet that stupid tea couple kept appearing... wasn't a fan of them

I liked this series, although my favorite Meitian didn't look as good as she usually does for most of it... I thought her innocent acting was cute though, especially near the beginning with her talking to the "big yellow bull" and all!

I thought Meitian was OK, quite decent looking in here.

I slogged throught the first half of the series. The series isn't interesting until Shu Chang's appearance and being kidnapped by Xue Dao Lao Zu. The second half of the story was pretty interesting.
