Hey foxs, thanks for the hard work on the translation. I've been reading this in Chinese so I know how hard it's been.

You've brought up my number one problem with Kou Zhong. In general, there's nothing wrong with setting up the protagonist as a contender, but there's three major problems in this particular case: first, everyone knows who's going to end up as emperor; next, the text constantly reminds us who's going to win; and last, the winner is even in the title of the book! I'm only a bit ahead of you so I don't know what Huang Yi is planning to do with Kou Zhong, but seeing him flail away at a hopeless cause makes it hard to sympathize with him.
