I'm Sorry , I Love You (Mianghada, Saranghada)

Cast:
Cha Moo Hyuk: So Ji Sup
Song Eun Chae: Lim So Jeong
Choi Yoon: Jung Kyung Ho
Kang Min Joo: Soo Ji Young
Oh Deul Lee: Lee Hye Young
Yoon Soo Kyung: Jun Hye Jin
Kim Galchi: Park Gun Tae

I usually do not write a review if I have already read a review of the same series or movie. But as I was watching "Misa", I was greatly moved and every scene affected me as if I was empathizing with every character in the series giving me the urge to write a review myself. This was one of the best, if not, really the best k-drama I have ever seen. After "All About Eve", "The Piano", and "All In", this was the only k-drama that made me anticipate seeing every episode. I was already having the feeling that I already got tired of k-dramas since I lost the feeling of excitement already every time I watched but "Misa" gave back my love for k-dramas. With this said, I believe that it would be very clearly stated how much I love "Misa"!

The Plot:

Cha Moo Hyuk was an orphan who lives the life of a street punk in Australia. He pretends to help those foreigners in Australia who can't speak English and then steals their money and throws them in the streets.

Song Eun Chae, the coordinator of the famous K-pop singer Choi Yoon, was secretly in love with Choi Yoon. Choi Yoon and famous actress Kang Min Joo have a shooting in Australia, therefore, had Eun Chae come with Yoon.

Yoon and Min Joo were together leaving Eun Chae alone. She does not know how to go to different places since she cannot speak English. Fortunately, or unfortunately, she meets Moo Hyuk, who, like what he typically does, pretends to help her. Moo Hyuk brought Eun Chae to a bar and planned to sell her for a price but felt guilty afterwards and rescued her.

Moo Hyuk's girlfriend, Ji Young, dumped Moo Hyuk for Jason because he was poor and Jason was rich. On their wedding day, an assassin was about to shoot Ji Young but Moo Hyuk blocked Ji Young and got shot himself. He had two bullets stuck in his head. One was removed but the other one was too dangerous to operate on, making him a person near death.

Before he dies, he returned to Korea to find his birth mother to give her a beautiful life only to find that she is a famous actress who lives happily with her son, Choi Yoon. Heartbroken, Moo Hyuk seek nothing but revenge for his mother who dumped him like trash.

However, he encounters Eun Chae again and this time, he falls deeply in love with her. Will his love for Eun Chae take away his hatred and revenge or will this still be his ultimate goal before he dies? Will he find out the truth why he was dumped or will he live the rest of his remaining days in hurt and anger?

The Cast:
So Ji Sup as Cha Moo Hyuk: From "Glass Shoes" to "Memories of Bali", I have always seen the potential from So Ji Sup. He was always true to his role and he performs his character very well. But after watching him in "Misa", I adored his skills! He was exceptional. The way he portrayed a hurt and angry son, the way he shows how he loved Eun Chae, the way he tries to handle the pain from his sickness, and even the way he seduces Min Joo were so realistic! His character was perfect! He has definitely earned my respect. Now, I proudly declare that I am already a big fan of So Ji Sup!

"When I find my poor mom, I'm gonna buy her nice clothes, kalbi meat, and a beautiful house. Just wait for me mom, I’ll make you rich in about 5 years, just wait for me..." -Cha Moo Hyuk

Lim So Jeong as Song Eun Chae: This is the second performance I have seen from Lim So Jeong. The other one is from the movie "...ING". I have seen her in "The Tale of Two Sisters" but I have not really watched it because I do not have the courage to watch horror movies. I liked her in "...ING", but I loved her in "Misa"! She plays her character naturally. I love the innocent Eun Chae very much. I find her cute and adorable. Although some may say that she is not as beautiful as Song Hye Gyo or Chae Rim, she is equally as beautiful to me! The way she delivers her character, it feels that I really know her very well. She is, indeed, a very promising actress.

"Even when he was still alive, he was lonely...I do not want him to be lonely. For once, I am living for myself. I accept any punishment that I have to take..." -Song Eun Chae

Jung Kyung Ho as Choi Yoon: This is the first time I have ever seen Yoon. From the beginning of episode one, I began to like Yoon already. I find him funny when he acts as a spoiled brat in front of Eun Chae and his mom. He has this typical pretty-boy image that the people idolize. But at the middle of the story, he changes and grows up. He was able to perform his role very well. When he cries, I feel sad because it was too natural that he does it without sobering, tears just fall from his eyes! I would love to see more of Jung Kyung Ho because he did great in this series.

"If I know there is nothing I can do for the one I love, I will let go of her hand. For me, that is what a real man is..." -Choi Yoon

Soo Ji Young as Kang Min Joo: I honestly do not like her at first because I was wondering why Yoon liked her very much instead of Eun Chae when Eun Chae is prettier to me. But after a number of episodes, she was ok. She was a real friend to Eun Chae and I find her really strong to be able to help Eun Chae and Moo Hyuk to be together although he loved Moo Hyuk. For a singer who is an amateur in acting, she did well!

"Love for me is just a game, like Starcraft! Today, I’ve realized I’ve lost in the game..." -Kang Min Joo

Lee Hye Young as Oh Deul Lee: I love her! She is very beautiful and I loved every scene that has her on it! I pitied her everytime she cries for no reason at all because of her innate motherly attachment to Moo Hyuk and his twin nuna. I also love it every time she says MR CHA…and YOON, ADUL, MY SON I wonder why is it that this is the first time I have seen her unlike other Korean actresses that are in the same generation as hers when she is much more better than some of them…

"Even if I have to give my own heart I would, I have lived enough, I can’t live without my son anyway..." -Oh Deul Lee

Jun Hye Jin as Yoon Soo Kyung (Moo Hyuk’s Nuna): Although not pretty, she is very effective. I have seen another actress who portrayed a character similar to hers and I have to admit that she is far better. If you have watched Ing Ing portrayed by Myolie Wu in TVB's "Golden Faith", you'll know what I mean. I never felt deep pain when watching her but with Moo Hyuk's nuna, I feel her character very well.

Park Gun Tae as Kim Galchi: Cute, cute and cute! I love this kid! He was so talented. I love the way how he tries to protect her mother and tries to teach her although he is fed up at times. If he were a true-to-life character, he would be the greatest character of all in the story. He is a child by heart and yet has to be all grown-up and stand up for his mother.

Sook Chae and Min Chae: I don't like Sook Chae but I like Min Chae. She is cute and sincere. I think she makes a cool sister to Eun Chae!

The Conclusion:
Although I have read in several forums that the ending is quite disturbing, I still think it was perfect. It was sad but it was for a greater happiness. For once, Eun Chae reaaly did something for herself. What keeps me puzzled was how the family (except the father for he will think of it as a punishment for his sins) and Yoon will be able to face what happened in the end…I just hope Yoon will sing his way out and move on! 

Parts I Especially Love:
- Yoon singing to Eun Chae rocking her to sleep.
- Moo Hyuk saving Eun Chae from the mobs in the bar in Australia.
- Yoon dancing and then getting mad when Eun Chae says he is corny because Eun Chae matters to him the most.
- Every time Eun Chae gets beaten up for Yoon.
- Yoon and Moo Hyuk becoming brothers (Hyung) in a basketball game at the hospital.
- Oh Deul Lee cooking breakfast for Yoon and gets wounded from broken pieces of glass and Moo Hyuk saves her.
- Moo Hyuk washing away nuna’s pain in the bath tub.
- Yoon lauging very hard because he was extremely happy that Oh Deul Lee said she made arrangements for him to marry Eun Chae.
- Moo Hyuk rapping really loud when he is trying to piss Eun Chae and Yoon off when he is driving them to the restaurant where Yoon plans to propose to Eun Chae.
- Oh Deul Lee telling the doctor that she is willing to give her heart to Yoon.
- Moo Hyuk running toward Eun Chae in the streets and hugging her with his jacket to keep her warm.
- Galchi wanting his uncle to stay for Christmas and Galchi crying when Moo Hyuk wants to give them the Gimbap store.
- Galchi, Eun Chae, Nuna and Moo hyuk selling gimbap.
- Moo Hyuk asking Eun Chae to eat or kiss him, to eat or sleep with him or to eat or die with him.
- Moo Hyuk coming to the house of Oh Deul Lee to tell her that he is her son too...
- Moo Hyuk revealing to Yoon that he wants revenge...imaginary talking to their mom saying that he will give his heart… click!
- Yoon explaining to Moo Hyuk that his mom should have a pressing reason for abandoning him
- Moo Hyuk calling again and again to ask Galchi if his stupid rockhead is still there.
- Eun Chae telling Moo Hyuk that she loves him so much..
- Moo Hyuk slowly dying in his motorcycle.
- The exceptional ending!

I've realized that I love everything in "Misa". It seems like I'm listing down all the scenes already therefore I decided to put an end to it there…it is truly a must see! A perfectly done series that deserves to be seen!

Facts:
So Ji Sup and Lim So Jeong won the best couple award in "Misa"!
Misa won the 32nd series award!
